Mark Cuvillier — Music, Books & Regional History

Welcome to the creative home of Mark Cuvillier — songwriter, storyteller, and Cajun Corridor researcher. Explore the music, history, and stories of Cajun migration and the people and communities that helped shape Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

Mark Cuvillier was born in Louisiana and grew up in Kingman, Arizona, where his lifelong fascination with the movement of people, culture, and memory first took root. An amateur historian and avid genealogist, he has spent years tracing the westward drift of his own family, research that inspired both his fictional family‑history narrative Cajun Corridor and its companion regional history project documenting the Cajun migration into Southeast Texas and the Golden Triangle of Port Arthur, Orange, and Beaumont. His songwriting draws from the same well — blending historical insight, regional identity, and lived experience into a musical style shaped by the stories he studies and the life he’s lived.
