Every song begins with a story. Some come from history, some from the people I've known, and others from moments in my life that have stayed with me for decades.

Over time, those stories have grown into separate albums and live shows, each with its own identity, purpose, and sound.

But some songs mean a little more to me.

I Wrote the Story. The Story Wrote the Sound. is a personal collection of my favorite songs from across those projects. These are the songs I've spent the most time writing, rewriting, and perfecting. They're the stories closest to my heart, the ones I felt needed to be told.

You won't find just one style of music here. Some stories call for country, others for rock, Cajun rhythms, folk, or something entirely unexpected. I've never believed a story should have to fit a particular musical genre.

I let the story decide what it needs to sound like.

This compilation brings together the songs that best represent who I am as a songwriter, a storyteller, and a person.

Some will make you laugh. Others may bring back memories, make you think, or touch something in your own life.

They're different stories with different sounds, but they all have one thing in common.
